The New Zealand Mint has released a collection of Star Wars-inspired solid gold 1-ounce Death Star Coins. On one side, the coin is engraved with an image of the Empire’s moon-sized superweapon. On the other side there’s an engraving of Queen Elizabeth.
I think it would have made much more sense to include Darth Vader or Emperor Palpatine on the coin instead of Queen Elizabeth as she doesn’t really have a connection to the Death Star… or does she?
The coin is a limited edition of 500, and the 0.9999% gold coins are available for $2,900 a piece. The value of gold is pretty high right now, so something like this is definitely an investment.
