Check out the new trailer for the documentary Rockfield: The Studio on the Farm, featuring Robert Plant and Ozzy Osbourne among a slew of others legendary musician. The documentary tells the tale of the world’s first residential recording studio in the Welsh countryside of Rockfield through over 40 years of behind-the-scenes archival footage. Some bands that recorded at Rockfield include Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Motörhead, XTC, Judas Priest, Queen, and so many more.
Rockfield: The Studio on the Farm was directed by Hannah Berryman.
“In a way the film was about group dynamics, the intensity and ‘make or break’ nature of residential recording, something that with technology is on the wane,” said Berryman. “That intensity almost broke some bands, but it also produced tracks that have stood the test of time, and maybe you can hear everything that went on this isolated farm in that music, the pleasure and the pain.”
