The self-isolation period for those who have tested positive for Covid will be reduced to five days in England. It is effective from Monday, Health Secretary Sapid Javid said.
Self-isolation was previously cut from 10 to the current seven days in December.
UK Health Security Agency data claims the majority of positive cases are no longer infectious after day five.
“With a second negative test people will be able to leave isolation at the start of day six,” Javid said.
