Royal Caribbean building new cruise terminal in Italy

Royal Caribbean Group plans to build a new cruise terminal in Ravenna, Italy.

It will build and operate the 10,000-square metre terminal located on the Adriatic coast.

It is about two hours from Venice and convenient for the airports of Bologna, Forli and Rimini.

It is expected to cost about €27 million.

“We are honored to partner with the Ravenna Port Authority on this exciting project which will return growth to Ravenna and bring a new era of cruising to the region,” said Joshua Carroll, VP, Destination Development at Royal Caribbean Group.  

It will include landscaping of the Park of Dunes greenspace project, entertainment areas, and it will have shore-power.

The terminal will house a crew centre, a tourist information desk and local street food units.

It is expected to be completed in 2024 and is targeting an increase to 300.000 passengers per year.
