Ron Howard will be spending time in Australia filming his new movie.
The Hollywood director is at the helm of new survival thriller, Eden, which will film in Australia’s Surfers Paradise in Queensland.
On Saturday, the 60-year-old bid farewell to his family, who had been visiting with him before he starts work.
Ron gave his son, Reed, 36, a cuddle before embracing his wife, Cheryl, and granddaughter.
The family had a very emotional farewell, hugging and chatting before Ron headed off.

Ron is in Australia to work on his new film, which stars Jude Law, Ana de Armas, Sydney Sweeney, Vanessa Kirby and Daniel Brühl.
It’s his second time filming in Queensland, after making Thirteen Lives in the region in 2021.
‘I have always been impressed with the professionalism and creative spirit of the Australian film community,’ he said of why he choses Australia as a location.
‘My experience with our Queensland crew on Thirteen Lives only confirmed that and more’ he continued.

The two wed on June 7, 1975 when he was an actor who had already starred in American Graffiti and she worked as a writer.
They have four adult children together: son Bryce, twins Jocelyn and Paige and son Reed.
