reveals her worst date, fitness routine and diet

Body+Soul meets the cast of ladies gracing our screens for The Bachelor 2021.

What’s the most extravagant thing you’ve done for love?

I’ve actually never been in love. I go out of my way for the people I care about and I would definitely be a bit of a romantic in a relationship!

What helps you get in the zone when you’re really nervous before a date?

You would think with the amount of first dates I have been on it would get easier, but it’s still makes me nervous. A glass of red wine does help, but be careful of the red wine teeth!

What’s the worst date you’ve ever been on? What happened?

I went on a Hinge date to a bar, and the guy was a bit of a catfish. As soon as I saw him, I knew I needed to immediately plan my departure. I sneakily text a friend asking if she could call me and fake an emergency escape, but she didn’t see it, so that call never came.

While my tragic date was getting another round of drinks, a random girl came up to me and complimented my coat, so I thought it’d be a good idea to ask if she could do a fellow single lady a solid and fake call me.

She agreed and left, just before my date returned. As he approached the table he said to me ‘Oh! So how do you know Sophie?’ I died inside. Turns out she was one of his mates.

What’s the most extreme thing you’ve done in the name of health and wellness?

Nothing! I am all about balance and moderation. I feel like if you deprive yourself too much it ends up being counter productive.

Stick to what works for your body and lifestyle, pace yourself, slowly introduce good habits and create a healthy relationship with food.

Do you have any wellness rituals you swear by?

Drink lots of water! I feel like you can definitely see it in your face if you are dehydrated.

I have always had a good skin care routine and do a peel and a mask weekly – you only have one skin remember, so take care of it!

What does a typical week of exercise look like to you? What’s your approach to fitness?

I really enjoy mixed HIIT classes as I can just show up and have coaches around to motivate me and I try to go at least 3-4 times a week.

What does a day on a plate look like to you?

During the week I get up and get ready, grab a coffee on my way to work and pump the tunes. My job is mentally challenging, so I am pretty flat out during the day. After work during the week, you’ll find me at the gym, grocery shopping, studying for my degree or meal prepping (or perhaps having a cheeky red).

On the weekends I have a really active social life, so you’ll find me bar hopping with my friends, but I like to keep at least one night/day on the weekend free to do my life admin and chill out.

Did you change your diet before going on The Bachelor?

I tried to eat well before Bachie but I have a massive sweet tooth and wasn’t able to cut my choccie out!

What are the simple things you do for self-care and to look after your mental health, why are these important to you?

I go for really long walks by myself several times a week and turn my music up. I just feel like it really helps take my mind off of everyday stressors.

I am really big on skincare, I try to eat a lot of vegetables/fruits and I also like to get massages at least once a month. I think it is really important to remember to allow yourself treats every now and then.
