The Translator is the first full-length feature directed by the award-winning married Syrian filmmakers. The duo’s last short, Mare Nostrum, was a Sundance selection and has received over 110 international selections and 36 awards. This is a personal film for Kazkaz and Khalaf as they were forced to flee their home in Damascus due to the Syrian conflict.

The movie was written by Kazkaz and Magali Negroni from a story by Kazkaz and Khalaf. It runs for 105 minutes and is not rated.
