Mastodon have announced their new album. Hushed & Grim is out October 29 via Reprise Records. Listen to the album track “Pushing the Tides” below. The album was produced by David Bottrill and features contributions from Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil. The songwriting on the album, according to a press release, is partially influenced by the death of the band’s manager Nick John.
Hushed & Grim follows 2017’s Emperor of Sand, which got nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album. At the 2018 Grammys, Mastodon won Best Metal Performance for Emperor of Sand’s “Sultan’s Curse.”
