This issue is pretty crazy. It’s a train jailbreak and questions continue to be raised. Trini, Ecliptor, and Xi go to break Jason, Zack, and Astronema out of S.P.D. custody and things could go smoother. There’s a fight, a skiff is destroyed, and Astronema even ends up killing an agent. This leaves the Omega Rangers, especially Trini, really questioning everything. What will they be willing to do? Where is the line? Isn’t it crazy how when things feel desperate, that line moves and certain evil people sound more reasonable?
While the Rangers are doing this, Drakkon pays a visit to Fendrick. With the aid of Yale, Drakkon convinces him to provide the fusion converter the Rangers need for the ship. Yay! He’s helpful! However, Drakkon also decides to discuss some private business with Fendrick, but we’re not privy to what happens there. I’m not liking where this deal is headed.
At the very end of the issue, we see an Empyreal with a destroyed city and/or volcano under it. Just a subtle reminder that these guys are bad news.
My thoughts are that this adventure will be the last for the Omega Rangers. The slope is becoming more and more slippery in the name of saving the universe. I’m also positive that this is not the last that we’ve seen of Ecliptor and Astronema.
