Harvey Specter Is Back on ‘Suits LA’ in Teaser for a Two-Episode Event

This article covers a developing story. Continue to check back with us as we will be adding more information as it becomes available.

Much of the cred associated with the Aaron Korsh 2011 legal dramedy, Suits, can be attributed to the performance of Gabriel Macht as Harvey Specter. After a resurgence of the original series on Netflix in recent years, Korsh returns for another rodeo, this time moving the franchise to California with Suits LA. Stephen Amell leads the show as Ted Black, an iteration of Macht’s Harvey, and while the show’s ratings are lagging, there is some potential there. Macht has already made an appearance in Suits LA Season 1, Episode 4, “Batman Returns.” However, his appearance schedule for Season 1 is a three-episode arc that resumes with next Sunday’s episode, titled “Acapulco.”

Ahead of the episode’s premiere, a new clip has been released to herald Harvey’s return, and it teases a “2-week Suits event,” which involves “doing some bad things.” A conversation kicks off the clip. “Suit up. Winners don’t greet the day in sweatpants,” Harvey, pristinely dressed, of course, says to Amell’s Ted. “You have too many sayings,” Ted responds. Yes, Ted. That’s why we love him. While the clip cuts through several of the other characters on the show, Harvey and Ted decide to put their game face on. “It involves doing some bad things,” Harvey says, to which Ted seeks some clarification. Harvey obliges, “Crossing lines, taking risks. Maybe even breaking a few laws.” And somewhere in there, Ted has a cocked gun aimed at him while he rouses a man in a hospital bed with “a firm tap.”

‘Suits LA’ Welcomes Back the Original Stars

Suits LA has found it difficult to win the hearts of critics so far, but the show continues to endure, with Harvey’s return in episode 4 the start of an uptick in ratings. It would be interesting to see what this two-week event, with Harvey at the center of affairs, does for the show moving forward. Macht does believe that the show is in great hands, previously saying:

“I definitely see this as a passing of the baton to Stephen [Amell] and the rest of the cast and crew in this ‘Suits LA’ universe. I was excited to come back and revisit the world of Suits, and I had a great time with the ensemble of players that are working on that show. Suits LA is in great hands, and I’m looking forward to seeing how the new team shapes the series.”

Having Harvey back is sure to be fun, but he is not the only star from the original series set for a return. Creator Korsh had long since suggested that more OG stars would be returning. So far, it has been confirmed that Rick Hoffman will return as corporate finance attorney Louis Litt and David Costabile as the cunning Daniel Hardman.

Tune in to NBC on Sunday, April 13, to watch “Acapulco” and find out. Episodes are available the next day to stream on Peacock.
