Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot is going to join the Disney family, but she won’t be playing a Disney Princess. Nope, Gadot is going to play playing the Evil Queen in the upcoming live-action adaptation of Snow White! I actually love this casting.
In my opinion, the Evil Queen is one of the most sinister and frightening Disney villains. I can totally see Gadot in this villainous role. She’s got the look, she’s got the acting skills, and it’ll be interesting to see how she brings this character to life.
Gadot joins the previously cast Rachel Zegler (West Side Story), who is set to play Snow White and Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man, 500 Days of Summer) will be directing.
Marc Platt is serving as a producer on the film with Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the songwriting duo behind the songs from La La Land, The Greatest Showman, and Dear Evan Hansen. They are set to write new music for the film.
Snow White is a super dark story, and I hope that this film captures all those terrifying things that made the original animated film so good.
