Ewan McGregor (Big Fish, Obi-Wan Kenobi) and Ethan Hawke (Training Day, Boyhood) have signed on to star in the upcoming drama Raymond and Ray at Apple TV+. The film will tell the story of two half-brothers who reunite at the funeral of their father. The look at familial bonds was written and directed by Rodrigo García, who previously worked on Albert Nobbs and In Treatment.
McGregor will play Raymond, while Hawke will portray Ray, both of whom grapple with the legacy of their difficult relationship with their demanding parent. According to the logline, “Somehow, they still each have a sense of humor, and [their father’s] funeral is a chance for them to reinvent themselves. There’s anger, there’s pain, there’s folly, there might be love, and there’s definitely grave-digging.”
Both actors are top-notch, and I love family dramas like this one. I can’t wait to see this movie. Is it something you’d be into?
