We are just over a week away from the theatrical release of director Baz Luhrmann’s musical biopic Elvis. We have seen some great trailers and footage from the movie, and we are so excited to check it out. It has been fun and reassuring to hear that Elvis Presley’s family, who have been able to screen the film, have loved it so much.
The King’s granddaughter, actress and director Riley Keough (Mad Max: Fury Road, Logan Lucky), was a fan of the movie, and she recently shared a very cool video of the film’s star, Austin Butler, singing in an early screen test for the film. Butler shows off his pure singing talent, while playing the guitar, and sounding so much like Elvis Presley.
In the Instagram post, she wrote, “One of the most remarkable parts to me about @elvismovie that people may not know (because he’s done such an fantastic job) is that @austinbutler is singing all of the early Elvis vocals himself. @bazluhrmann shared this clip today from an early screen test of Austin that I wanted to repost because what he was able to do is just so beautiful.”
He really does do such an incredible job embodying Elvis, and I can’t wait to see his whole story told in this film. Elvis opens in theaters on June 24th. Check out the video below, and enjoy.
