Lin-Manuel Miranda debuted a new In the Heights clip at the 2021 MTV Awards. The new footage of Jon M. Chu’s big-screen adaptation has made its way online, and it features another look at the upcoming musical.

The story is set in Washington Heights in New York City and focuses on a bodega owner who is closing his store and retiring to the Dominican Republic after inheriting his grandmother’s fortune.
In the Heights was originally scheduled for a 2020 and then a June 18 release, but will now be released on HBO Max on June 11. The last release date pitted the film against Disney-Pixar’s newest animated film Luca, while its new release date sets Chu’s musical as counter-programming to The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It.
