If you haven’t yet listened to Ain’t Slayed Nobody then you really should. It is an actual play podcast of the TTRPG system Call of Cthulhu by Chaosium.
The setting for this playthrough is the wild west as we follow the ragtag crew of Ellie, Father Flint, Johnny, Jeremiah, and Lance as they take a crazy journey looking to avenge the death of Ellie’s father and fight some crazy Cthulhu shenanigans along the way.
Lest you think this is a completely serious story, let me assure you that you will be laughing as much as you are horrified. The cast is really good at keeping things light hearted even when truly terrible stuff is happening, but not in a way that detracts from what is happening.
Overall, this is an extremely good campaign to listen to if you are trying to figure out how to make Call of Cthulhu more than just a one shot that immediately kills all your players. Part one of their campaign finale released today and we can expect part two on August 31, 2021.
