Big Little Lies author splurges $19.5million on Mosman mansion… making her neighbours with show’s star Nicole Kidman

Big Little Lies author Liane Moriarty has snapped up an amazing mansion on Sydney‘s north shore for a reported $19.5million.

Moriarty, 56, who has sold more than 20 million books, purchased the sprawling Mosman pad last month with her husband Adam Gatenby, after it was originally listed with a price guide of $19million reports Domain.

Featuring three levels, the ultra-modern waterfront home has five bedrooms and five-bathrooms and boasts spectacular views of Sydney Harbour.

Situated in one of Sydney’s most sought after neighbourhoods, the house, designed by prestige architect Susan Rothwell, overlooks Balmoral Beach.

Highlights include an internal elevator, and majestic curved staircase, limestone floors and custom joinery.

It comes after Moriaty has enjoyed huge international success with her 2014 novel Big Little Lies.

The blockbuster thriller was later turned into the 2017 HBO series starring Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, and Shailene Woodley.

Big Little Lies dramatised grim subject matter such as domestic violence and sexual assault, as well as family-centric topics such as divorce and co-parenting. 

Kidman later starred in the streaming hit Nine Perfect Strangers, which was based on Moriarty’s 2018 novel, about a mysterious ‘wellness’ retreat.
