Ciarán Hinds, who was recently nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Belfast, has joined the cast of Netflix’s upcoming spy drama series, Treason.
The six-part series comes from Bridge of Spies screenwriter Matt Charman and Hinds joins the previously cast Olga Kurylenko, Oona Chaplin and Charlie Cox.
The series follows a character named Adam Lawrence, “trained and groomed by MI6, whose career seems set. But when the past catches up with him in the form of Kara, a Russian spy with whom he shares a complicated past, he is forced to question everything and everyone in his life. A triangular relationship forms between Kara, Adam and his wife, Maddy; three people who are trying to expose one another’s secrets, navigate political and diplomatic relationships, whilst hanging onto their personal lives and those they love most.”
Hinds, who also appeared in projects such as Munich, There Will Be Blood, In Bruges and Justice League, takes on the role of Sir Martin Angelis, the boss and mentor of Charlie Cox’s character Adam.
I love a good spy thriller and Treason is shaping up to be a good one.
