Big two plane makers Boeing and Airbus want the US government to delay the rollout of new 5G cellular services. Executives wrote to the Biden administration urging a rethink on rollout as it could cause ‘an enormous negative impact on the aviation industry.’
It could ‘adversely affect the ability of aircraft to safely operate’ because of interference with altimeter navigation equipment on certain frequencies.
It could lead to widespread delays, flight diversions or cancellations, they say.
