Paramount Pictures has released the first teaser for its upcoming live-action/CG-hyrid film adaptation of Clifford The Big Red Dog. This gives us our first look at the character’s feature film debut, and it pretty much looks like what you’d expect. It’s a big red dog!
The film stars Darby Camp (Big Little Lies), Jack Whitehall (Bad Education, Jungle Cruise), John Cleese (Monty Python, Harry Potter), and Sienna Guillory (Resident Evil). It will also feature Izaac Wang (Good Boys), David Alan Grier (The Carmichael Show), Rosie Perez (Birds of Prey), SNL mainstay Kenan Thompson, Paul Rodriguez, and Jessica Keenan Wyn.
Here’s the synopsis for the film:
When middle-schooler Emily Elizabeth (Camp) meets a magical animal rescuer (Cleese) who gifts her a little, red puppy, she never anticipated waking up to find a giant ten-foot hound in her small New York City apartment. While her single mom (Guillory) is away for business, Emily and her fun but impulsive uncle Casey (Whitehall) set out on an adventure that will keep you on the edge-of-your-seat as our heroes take a bite out of the Big Apple. Based on the beloved Scholastic book character, Clifford will teach the world how to love big!
Clifford the Big Red Dog is scheduled to be released on November 5, 2021.
