Disney Updates Release Schedule for Black Panther 2, King’s Man & More

Disney has revealed its new updated release schedule for a number of upcoming films, including Black Panther 2, previously dated for May 6, 2022, is now releasing on July 8, 2022; 20th Century Studios’ The King’s Man, previously dated for February 12, 2021, has moved to March 12, 2021; the horror movie Antlers, previously dated for February 19, 2021, is now unset; Raya and the Last Dragon has moved from March 12, 2021, to March 5, 2021; Ryan Reynolds’ Free Guy is now dated for May 21, 2021; Death on the Nile is now dated for September 17, 2021; Encanto is dated for November 24, 2021; Thor: Love and Thunder, previously dated for February 11, 2022, has moved to May 6, 2022; Pixar’s Turning Red is now dated for March 11, 2022; Lightyear will release on June 17, 2022; Captain Marvel 2, previously dated on July 8, 2022, has moved to November 11, 2022; Rogue Squadron is dated for a December 22, 2023, release; and an untitled 20th Century Studios feature previously dated for September 10, 2021, has moved to February 11, 2022.

The King’s Man will open against Warner Bros,’ The Many Saints of Newark; Raya and the Last Dragon will open against Warner Bros.’ Tom and Jerry and an untitled Universal Event Film; Free Guy will open against Warner Bros.’ Godzilla vs. Kong and Lionsgate’s Spiral; Death on the Nile will open against Universal’s The Bad Guys and Sony’s Man, From Toronto; Encanto will open against MGM’s Gucci; Turning Red will open against an untitled Universal Music Event Film, and Captain Marvel 2 will open against Paramount’s Spellbound.

The King’s Man follows a collection of history’s worst tyrants and criminal masterminds as they gather to plot a war to wipe out millions. Now, one man must race against time to stop them. Along the way, viewers can discover the origins of the very first independent intelligence agency in director Matthew Vaughn’s latest entry, The King’s Man.

At the end of Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Eggsy married a Crown Princess of Sweden, Harry was officially back in the fold, and Tequila (Channing Tatum) joined the Kingsman. It’s unclear whether all three will return for the sequel, or if Tequila’s former Statesman partners, Ginger Ale (Halle Berry) and Champ (Jeff Bridges) will come back as well.
