With all this talk of Variants in the new Disney+ series Loki, it’s worth mentioning that actor Tom Hiddleston almost ended up playing an entirely different character in the MCU. It’s hard to imagine Hiddleston playing anyone other than the troublesome god of mischief, but early on he was seriously considered to play the role of one of the Avengers.
