Reptoid Games and Way Down Deep recently announced their narrative puzzle experience Fire Tonight will launch on August 12. In the game, you play as a young couple in 1990 who must deal with the power going out and them living on opposite sides of town.
When you play as Maya, you’ll have to solve light puzzles and stay hidden from cops as you try to get to Devin’s apartment. Meanwhile, as Devin, you’ll have to calm your nerves by listening to mixtapes from Maya, reflecting on your history as a couple, and more. Plus, the game has a neon-tinted ‘90s aesthetic and an electronic soundtrack from Lex Metcalfe to add more charm.
Set in 1990, Fire Tonight pits love against the odds as Maya journeys across town to reunite with her partner, Devin. Switch between their perspectives, solving light environmental puzzles as Maya to avoid flames and police blockades on her journey to Devin’s apartment. While Devin awaits Maya’s arrival, explore mementos from their relationship like mixtapes to learn more about the couple and what’s driving them to be together in this trying time.
Fire Tonight looks like a really cool game and you can play it starting August 12 via Nintendo Switch, PC, and Mac for $5.99!
