Neill Blomkamp (District 9) began working on a secret horror film in 2020, and now we have our first look at what to expect from the director thanks to some new, behind-the-scenes footage from Demonic.
Demonic tells the story of a young woman who unleashes terrifying demons when supernatural forces at the root of a decades-old rift between mother and daughter are revealed. Not much else is known about the film, but Blomkamp has been working on it since shortly after the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Blomkamp will serve as both director and writer for the upcoming horror film.

Demonic stars Carly Pope, Chris William Martin, Nathalie Boltt and Michael Rogers. The film is set to release in theaters on demand and digital on August 20, 2021, and on demand and digital everywhere on August 27, 2021.
Blomkamp is most famous for directing District 9, Elysium and Chappie. More recently, he’s worked on several shorts including Conviction, God: City and Lima.
