Update #2: It looks like Slipknot has already replaced Craig Jones?
Update #1: Slipknot has taken the post regarding Jones‘ departure down. The original story is as follows.
Original story: For reasons unknown, Slipknot has parted ways with keyboardist and man in charge of samples Craig Jones. Jones played in Slipknot since 1996 until present day, and has performed on every one of the band’s releases from their 1999 self-titled album up until The End, So Far.
No further information is available at the moment aside from a brief post from Slipknot, which reads: “To our fans, Slipknot is announcing that we have parted ways with Craig Jones. We wish Jones all the best for the future.”
No replacement for Jones has been announced, and Jones has not commented on the issue. In addition, Slipknot announced earlier today that percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan will not be on the road with them due to his wife’s health. Slipknot kicks off their European tour tonight in Nickelsdorf, Austria, with no clear answer on who will be filling in for either Jones or Crahan.
