Hulu has released the trailer for The Handmaid’s Tale Season 5, which gives us an interesting look at the continuing story of Elisabeth Moss‘ June. The Season 4 finale saw June killing Commander Waterford after years of suffering his brutal abuse, and this upcoming season will explore the punishment she’ll suffer for carrying out her justifiable crimes.
In the new season, “June faces consequences for killing Commander Waterford while struggling to redefine her identity and purpose. The widowed Serena attempts to raise her profile in Toronto as Gilead’s influence creeps into Canada. Commander Lawrence works with Nick and Aunt Lydia as he tries to reform Gilead and rise in power. June, Luke, and Moira fight Gilead from a distance as they continue their mission to save and reunite with Hannah.”
The series also stars Bradley Whitford, Yvonne Strahovski, Max Minghella, O-T Fagbenle, Samira Wiley, Ann Dowd, Madeline Brewer, Amanda Brugel, Genevieve Angelson, and Sam Jaeger.
The Handmaid’s Tale Season 5 premieres on September 14th.
