Ian Alexander Jr., the son of actress/director Regina King, has passed away. And MTO News has confirmed that he’s suspected to have committed suicide.
Ian’s 26th birthday was Wednesday.
“Our family is devastated at the deepest level by the loss of Ian,” Regina says in a statement. “He is such a bright light who cared so deeply about the happiness of others. Our family asks for respectful consideration during this private time. Thank you.”
Ian was Regina’s only child, whom she shared with her ex-husband, record producer Ian Alexander Sr.
MTO News spoke with one of Regina’s fiends who told us that Ian suffered from mental health issues for much of his adult life. The insider, who was devastated by the news told MTO News, “Regina loved that boy more than life itself, she’s devastated . . . we need to all pray for her.”
